The 24th Young At Art exhibit at the East Hawaii Cultural Center Galleries held March 3-28 gave out 25 student awards for 2012. Best of Show recipient Rae Kurohara received an award worth two interisland roundtrip tickets from Hawaiian Airlines.

The 24th Young At Art exhibit at the East Hawaii Cultural Center Galleries held March 3-28 gave out 25 student awards for 2012. Best of Show recipient Rae Kurohara received an award worth two interisland roundtrip tickets from Hawaiian Airlines.

Judges’ Choice awards were given to Chayden Bertelman, Kahiau Poe, Tehya Thome, Ethan Nell, Matt Haywood, and Sara Lim. Twelve awards of recognition and six honorable mentions were also given to students representing K-12 grades from public, charter, private and home schools on the Big Island.

The artistic excellence of youth are the focus of the month of March, National Youth Art Month.

The judges for this event were John Dawson, Kathleen Kam, and Lonnie Tomono.
